Today’s post showcases a short documentary film produced by managing editor Nicholas Busalacchi. The film features four urban gardeners who are taking the fight for food access, public health, and community wellbeing to the streets of Los Angeles. Produced for USC Annenberg’s Journalism 522 course, this is just one example of the myriad ways planners can use digital media and emerging technology to tell stories about the urban environment. Starring Florence Nishida from LA Green Grounds, Al Renner from the LA Community Garden Council, and guerrilla gardeners Ron Finley and Abbie Zands.
