This American Life Goes Inside the Fair Housing Act

This weekend’s episode of the award-winning public radio show This American Life takes on the recent history of housing discrimination and policy in the U.S., tracing some of the broader implications and outcomes of where one lives.  Among the highlights of the broadcast are candid interviews with actors employed by a New York City housing organization to “test” whether specific buildings’ supervisors discriminate against potential renters. These individuals’ experiences refute the common perception that housing discrimination is a thing of the past.
