October 4-8, 2010 is the annual, statewide Rideshare Week. We challenge you to share the ride at least one day during the week. Rideshare Week is designed to encourage commuters to take personal responsibility for reducing traffic and harmful emissions by pledging to share the ride. For over 15 years, USC Transportation has worked diligently to promote alternative commuting – making it an convenient choice for the USC Community through subsidies and partnerships aimed at providing affordable commuting options.
Take the Challenge:
Save money in this economy by ridesharing. Imagine $1934 MORE in your pocket annually. That’s right, that’s what the average USC student, faculty and staff member would save in gas every year if they shared the ride just ONE day every week! From October 4-8th find out what it feels like to gain $1934 by CHALLENGING yourself to bike, carpool, vanpool, take the bus or train to work for ONE day during your commute.
Not sure where to start? Need a carpool buddy?
No problem! USC Transportation will be hosting informational booths on Wednesday, October 6th 10AM-2PM at the Gavin Herbert Plaza (next to the JEP House). Representatives from Zipcar (car-sharing) and Zimride (ride-matching), Metro, Metrolink, LADOT, and Enterprise Rent-A-Car will be present to provide information and answer any of your alternative rideshare questions.
So do your part to make a difference. Rideshare.
Those who participate and pledge to share the ride are eligible to win:
- $50 gas cards
- 2 Disneyland tickets
- 4 Universal Studios Hollywood tickets
- 2 four packs of tickets to Aquarium of the Pacific
- Flip Ultra U1120 camcorder
- $100 Best Buy gift certificate and more…
